What is FBLA?
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is an organization founded by Dr. Hamden L. Forkner, with its first chapter being chartered in Johson City, Tennessee, in 1942. Today, it has grown to a membership of 196,950 members representing three divisions (Middle School, High School, Collegiate) of over 5,200 chapters across the country (as of 2022).
FBLA gives students the opportunity and resources to develop abilities in leadership, public/presentational speaking, and a wide arsenal of other skills necessary in workplace settings. Through this organization, members are able to network with other aspiring business leaders and well-established businesspeople and gain recognition for their skills through competitive events. Members of FBLA will enter their careers as more all-around capable people prepared to take on the toughest challenges of the business world, achieve their goals, and thrive.
UCVTS FBLA
UCVTS FBLA is a chapter of FBLA representing the organization's members hailing from Union County Vocational-Technical Schools. For several years, we have consistently been the largest chapter of FBLA in terms of membership. Our mission and core values align with those of FBLA on the national level.
UCVTS FBLA prepares members interpersonally for their futures through facilitating participation in the Business Achievement Awards (BAA) and competitive events. Our members are given the resources to not only succeed at the regional, state, and national levels of competition, but build skills they'll use for a lifetime. Here, they're empowered to take on leadership on scales ranging from UCVTS to the organization's national level.
